Friends of Pullman National Historical Park’s Exhibit Hall offers easy parking and a great introduction to the history and legacy of Chicago’s first national park. Visitors can begin their experience by watching a free 18-minute film filled with historic photographs and quotes that provide an engaging overview for guests of all ages.

Exhibit Hall also features a thoughtfully curated selection of artifacts and exhibits from the organization’s collection, highlighting the Pullman family, the development of the town, and Pullman’s lasting impact on American history. Be sure to visit often, as the Exhibit Hall will host a series of exhibits that explore the stories that helped shape the nation.

The NPS Visitor Center

The National Park Service VISITOR CENTER for PULLMAN NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK is housed in the historic Administration Clock Tower Building just north of Pullman Exhibit Hall. The Visitor Center gives a great overview of the stories that live in Pullman and is a great place to start your visit.

Directions

By car:

From downtown Chicago via I-94 (Dan Ryan and Bishop Ford expressways):

Take I-94 East (south). After 95th Street, the expressway will split. Stay in the left lane and follow the Bishop Ford toward Indiana. Exit at 111th Street (#66A). Go west on 111th Street to Cottage Grove Avenue, turn left (south) on Cottage Grove. Continue one block south to 112th Street, turn left into the Pullman Exhibit Hall parking lot.

Via Lake Shore Drive/Stony Island Avenue alternate:

From downtown Chicago, take Lake Shore Drive south. Turn right at 57th Street (the exit for the Museum of Science and Industry) and follow the inner drive to connect to Stony Island Avenue. Continue south on Stony Island for about 5 miles. After 95th Street, continue south and merge onto the Bishop Ford Expressway toward Indiana. Exit at 111th Street (#66A). Go west on 111th Street to Cottage Grove Avenue, turn left on Cottage Grove. At 112th Street, turn left into the Visitor Center parking lot.

From the South via I-94 (Dan Ryan and Bishop Ford expressways):

Follow I-94 West toward Chicago. Exit at the 111th Street exit (#66A). Go west on 111th Street to Cottage Grove Avenue, turn left (south) on Cottage Grove. Continue one block south to 112th Street, turn left into the Pullman Exhibit Hall parking lot.

By train from downtown Chicago:

The Pullman District is serviced by the Metra Electric commuter train (Millennium Park terminal) that stops at 111th Street-Pullman and 115th Street-Kensington stations. Visit Metra’s website for schedules and ticket information.

From the 111th Street-Pullman Station:

This station is closest to the Pullman Exhibit Hall and is a local station stop. Trains take approximately 30-40 minutes to get to this stop from downtown Chicago. After arriving at the station, walk through the station house and down the stairs. Walk east (right turn) to Cottage Grove Avenue. Cross to the park and walk south (right turn) one block through the park to 112th Street. The Exhibit Hall will be located on your left on the corner of 112th and Cottage Grove.

From the 115th Street–Kensington Station:

This station is about 4 blocks from the Pullman Visitor Center and is an express stop on this line. Express trains take about 20 minutes from downtown to this stop. Exit the station on Front Street. Turn left toward 115th Street and then another left to head east on 115th Street (under the viaduct) to Cottage Grove Avenue. Cross at the light, turn left (north) and proceed 3 blocks up Cottage Grove to 112th Street. The Exhibit Hall is across the street on the corner of 112th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue.
